PETER W. STEVENS has been involved in the Marine Industry for most of his working career including over seven years practical sea-going experience coupled with two years in the Operations Department of a major oil tanker company. Duties included vessel/terminal operations, monitoring of offshore lightering operations, and strategic planning to mitigate oil spills. He has been a marine / cargo surveyor / consultant for over eighteen (18) years based in the USA, dealing with cargo problems of vessels carrying bulk liquid, bulk gas cargoes, dry cargoes; project cargoes (including items of machinery), heavy lifts, offshore barges and tugs, contamination investigations and loss control of liquid cargoes, structural damage surveys, investigations, and assessment of vessels, shore facilities including oil terminals, docks, warehouses etc.; coordination/supervision of oil pollution occurrences. He has attended Business Courses at Houston Baptist University and University of Houston , as well as industry courses including tanker operations and advanced petroleum loss control. He is also experienced in Legal Proceedings. |
