MICHAEL JOSEPH CURRAN , M.N.I.

Joined P&O Steam Navigation Co. in 1973 sailing in Bulk Shipping Division. Sailed on Oil Tankers, both crude and product carriers, Oil/Bulk/Ore carriers, Chemical carriers and last six years of seagoing career were exclusively on LNG/ LPG tankers.

In 1985 Michael Curran joined Caleb Brett in capacity of Marine Technical Surveyor, primarily engaged in loss control during oil custody transfer. Involved in shore terminal operations, line setting displacements, tank gauging and verifying analysis procedures. He is experienced in the use of ASTM tables, MPMS procedures and Crude Oil Washing. Also supervising loading/discharge operations as cargo expediter, responsible for safety, quality and quantity determination. Engaged in dry cargo inspection, draft surveys and supervision of loading/discharge.

Since 1986 he has handled P&I cases in Lake Maracaibo , Venezuela on behalf of most P&I Associations. Was formally named as the P&I representative for Lake Maracaibo area in 1992, dealing with collisions, personal injury, damage to shore installations and machinery, variety of general and bulk cargoes, environmental pollution and stowaways.
